Projects

HIGH SCHOOL FOCUS

These projects offered through the Career and Trades Program are geared toward High school students. The goal is to provide hands-on experience and exposure to a variety of careers and trades that are available and relevant within the Nechako Valley and beyond. 

Agriculture

Two-day hands-on experience in various aspects of agriculture, including time at the local dairy, running machinery, fish-farm interactions and more.

Heavy Duty

Two-day working with various types of machinery and exposure to mechanics for large machines.

Aviation

One-day hands on experience at the airport. A partnership with the Vanderhoof Flying Club.

STEAM

Students from SD91 get to participate in the UNBC STEAM program (science, technology, engineering, art and math). 

Health

Two-day awareness event spent within health care facilities exploring all levels of health care - from custodial to providers to administration. Partnership with Northern Health and the Omineca Medical Clinic.

YELL - Entrepreneuship

Senior students work with mentors in business and industry to learn about risk, business planning in a 'Dragon Den' type environment.
